Poverty, Trade and Immigration
John Laesch (Lash), in his presentation "Poverty, Trade and Immigration", will tell us how we can make a difference through extending American Labor Standards to those who produce the goods we buy. On Wednesday evening, December 13th 2006 at 7:30 pm, at DUUC in Kreves Hall, John will show a documentary video exposing the abuses of sweatshop owners in the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI). Following the video, John Laesch will talk about political and individual solutions that people can take to encounter sweatshop labor abuses and human rights abuse.
