DESCRIPTION:The Humanists of West Suburban Chicagoland is proud to ann
 ounce its premier lecture for the 2006-07 year with guest speaker\, Lo
 ri Lipman Brown\, the director of the Secular Coalition for America\, 
 a lobbying organization based in Washington DC\, addressing the intere
 st and concerns of American atheists\, humanists and freethinkers.  Th
 e American Humanist Association is one of its seven member groups.  Sh
 e will be speaking about the current issues and problems\, the progres
 s achieved during her first year and the plans for the future.\n\n \n\
 nMs Brown served as Nevada State Senator from 1992 to 1994 and has rec
 eived honors from the ACLU and the National Association of Social Work
 ers.  She has been a frequent political commentator on television and 
 radio and a columnist in a variety of print media.  A former private p
 ractice lawyer\, she also served on the faculty of the University of P
 hoenix.
