The organization works as a subsidiary of the American Humanist Association to certify qualified members to serve as its ministry, having assumed the duties of the American Humanist Association's former Division of Humanist Counseling.

The DuPage Peace through Justice Coalition presents "Just Views", free films on Rwanda's genocide and the Lessons for the U.S. and the U.N. Members of the public, including students, are welcomed at the DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church, 4 S535 Old Naperville Road in Naperville. (For recorded driving directions, phone 630/505-9408 or go to www.DuPagePeace.org). The viewing will be followed by discussion. Parking is free, plentiful and close. Just Views on the "2nd Friday" of every month attracts warm, concerned, involved people -- so come in out of the cold and join us! Please send this notice to others and bring a friend with you.
Medical Care for All (DUUC, Naperville, from 2005-10-12 19:30 to 2005-10-12 21:00)
Dr. Nike Mourikes will present on the ethical reasons for supporting health care for all. Dr. Mourikes is a human rights advocate and board certified physician in the specialties of pediatrics and internal medicine.
Humanist Discussion Group to hear Eric Zorn (DUUC, Naperville, from 2005-09-14 19:30 to 2005-09-14 21:00)
The Humanist Discussion Group will be addressed by Eric Zorn speaking about finding moral truths without supernatural religion -- it can be done and must be done. You are invited to hear, "The Empty Frame: If you don't believe in God, do you believe in "nothing?" " beginning at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, September 14th 2005, at DUUC in Kreves Hall. We stop at 9 pm for informal conversation.

Darwin Day Celebration Meeting (DUUC, Naperville, from 2005-02-09 18:30 to 2005-02-09 21:00)
Our 3rd Darwin Day Celebration will be held on Feb 9th 2005 at DUUC in Kreves Hall. We will begin with a potluck at 6:30 pm for those who want to participate. Please bring a dish to pass. Our regular meeting will start at 7:30 pm, and Eugenie C. Scott, executive director of the National Center for Science Education will talk about "Creationism and Evolution: Where do we go from here?"
June Meeting: Mel Lipman, "The Future of Humanism" (DUUC, Naperville, from 2005-06-08 19:30 to 2005-06-08 21:00)
Mel Lipman, President of the American Humanist Association will be speaking on “The Future of Humanism” to the Humanists of West Suburban Chicagoland on Wednesday, June 8th 2005, at 7:30 pm at the DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church in Naperville. There is no charge and everyone is welcome.
March Meeting: My Journey into Religious Humanism (Naperville, from 2005-03-16 19:30 to 2005-03-16 21:00)
The Humanists of West Suburban Chicagoland will meet at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, March 16 at the DuPage UU Church in Naperville. Dr. David Oler will speak on "My Journey into Religious Humanism". Note that this meeting replaces the meeting originally scheduled for March 9.

Doctor Prescribes National Health Insurance to Resolve Nation's Health Care Crisis
The Humanists Discussion Group invites you to attend the presentation of the ethical reasons for supporting Medical Care for All. The meeting will be on Wednesday, October 12th 2005, in Kreves Hall. The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. We stop at 9 p.m. for informal conversation. Dr. Nike Mourikes comes to us from the Physicians for a National Health Program. Her speech is titled: “Doctor prescribes national health insurance to resolve nation's health care crisis.”

The Humanists of West Suburban Chicagoland will meet at 7:30 PM, Wednesday, April 13 at the DuPage UU Church in Naperville. Cultural anthropologist, Art Piper, will talk with us about cultural evolution over the last 50,000 years. Our goal was to look at the evolution of our Universe from its beginning to the present, and as broadly as possible.
