This Wednesday, Jan 10th, Jack Sechrest will make some personal remarks with the title "A Non-Believer No More!" This is not a death bed conversion so come and learn how it applies to Humanism.

Darwin Day Event (DUUC, Naperville, from 2007-02-14 18:30 to 2007-02-14 21:00)

The Humanists are holding their fifth annual Darwin Day Event at DUUC on Wednesday, Feb 14th, 2007. The event will begin with a potluck at 6:30 pm, followed by the regular Meeting at 7:30, at which time Dr. Phil Regal will talk about “Bonobos Biology and Human Evolution.” Everyone is invited is invited to attend either event or both. Please bring a dish to pass.

Empowerment of Working Women in India (DUUC, Naperville, from 2007-03-14 19:30 to 2007-03-14 21:00)

Meena Razvi will be our speaker this Wednesday at our Humanist meeting. She will speak on the Empowerment of Working Women in India. Being raised in Kenya and learning to speak Gujarati from her mother, Meena went to the State of Gujarati and the city of Ahmedabad to do her research in the language of the people of her study. Please join us as we consider the process of Cultural Change.

Humanists call for Social Justice (DUUC, Naperville, from 2007-04-11 19:30 to 2007-04-11 21:00)

Continuing the vision for Humanism within the Unitarian Universalist traditions, Rev. Brian Covell will explain how he applies his Humanist principles through his ministry at the Third Unitarian Church of Chicago. The Humanists of West Suburban Chicagoland will meet at the DuPage Unitarian Universalist Church on April 11th 2007 at 7:30 pm to hear Rev. Covell explain how Humanism has a home in liberal religion. Humanism is a naturalistic philosophy through which Humanists take responsibility to affirm the worth and dignity of every person and to take practical, tangible initiatives to make this principle real in our neighborhoods, cities and world.

America's Most Reviled Minority (DUUC, Naperville, from 2007-05-09 19:30 to 2007-05-09 21:00)

Ed Searl, minister at the Unitarian Church of Hinsdale, will be our speaker. He will talk about what it means to be an atheist in America, today; the difference between a "strong" and a "weak" atheist; and a consideration of atheism and religious experience.
